Common sense begins with Life
We believe so strongly in the precious gift of human life that it informs and animates a worldview in which all life, from conception through natural death, from the strongest to the most vulnerable, the brightest to the simplest, the firm and the infirm, the most able to the weakest and most helpless among us, has dignity and meaning and worth.
It is through that lens we see and act on the critical issues facing North Dakota – oil and gas drilling in Western North Dakota, taxes, the state’s budget surplus, agricultural issues and renewable energy.
North Dakota’s future depends on how we approach these issues together. Many of these issue affect our nation as a whole, and how North Dakotans address these issues may well impact public policy for the nation.

We’re building a vibrant statewide network of active and energized citizens and equipping them with issue specific knowledge to better engage and influence opinion leaders and public officials throughout the state. We employ a unique combination of today’s latest interactive technologies with creative, high leverage strategy and message, along with grassroots energy, to promote common sense ideas and solutions.
What is a Common Sense Issues solution?
Find the common sense way of solving problems and a North Dakotan will take it. Inherently sensible, realistic...we draw both strength and purpose by staying close to the land and even closer to one another. That’s why ‘shout-over-you’ politics don’t work here, and why the grit and gristle of our public policy begins by asking the hard questions:
Will it advance the value and dignity of life?
Will it aid or hinder the cause of liberty?
Is it right?
Is it honest?
Is it compassionate?
Is it transforming?
Will it endure?
What are Common Sense Issues for North Dakota?
We desire to advance awareness, involvement, and citizen action on the following:
LIFE ISSUES – Defending the whole of life from conception to natural death, and defining our humanity by how we apply respect for life to the handicapped, the helpless, and the least among us.
OIL & GAS – The nation’s energy crisis has put North Dakota in the enviable position of playing a significant role of a comprehensive solution. Promoting the proper balance of authentic conservation and regulated development of our natural resources and working to bring a reasoned approach against extreme environmentalism which would deny their use through sheer political muscle in an energy dependent economy.
TAXES – Working to see that the sweat equity of North Dakotans, taken as taxes from their incomes, is properly managed, and when surpluses exit, see that it is returned to the hard-working citizens and not absorbed into larger and more wasteful spending programs.
AGRICULTURE – Promoting consistent policy to undergird farmers and other agricultural interests to ensure future production as well as the livelihood of farmers and their families.
RENEWABLE ENERGY (wind and clean coal) – Promoting a balanced approach to reducing our nation and our state's reliance on foreign energy without the burden adversely affecting the ability of energy companies to conduct business.
